Parental and Family Engagement at One City Schools

Parental engagement in the education of our students, and in our school, is very important at One City. We take this very seriously and so do our parents.

One City is known for having some of the highest levels of parental involvement in Dane County, and we take great pride in this as well. It is not unusual to see 70 percent or more of our families represented at school-hosted events and activities, and 100 percent participation in parent-teacher conferences.

One City parents are members of our Board of Directors and parent-driven Parent Council. They attend field trips and assist with special events and projects we host at our school and in the community.

They develop community with each other, frequently getting together with other One City families and children outside of school hours to develop friendships and build strong personal and family relationships with each other.

They represent One City in community engagement activities alongside our staff and leadership team members, or in place of our staff.

They provide constant feedback about our school and know that they can sit down with our CEO, principal, teachers or other team members to share their input and feedback about how things or going, or what they would like to see happen at our school.

They also know they can count on One City being helpful to them outside of the education we provide their children.

A school like no other in Wisconsin!
