One City Preschool is licensed by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to serve up to 82 children ages 2 through 4K in its current 2012 Fisher Street location. One City Preschool is currently rated 5-stars (out of 5) by Wisconsin’s YoungStar child care licensing system. Our state child care license identification number is 2002427.
One City Preschool is accredited by the City of Madison Child Care Division and enjoys a strong partnership with other accredited preschools in Madison and Dane County.
One City Preschool was awarded the Gold award as the best preschool in Madison, as voted on by readers of Madison Magazine in 2018 - the only year One City participated in the competition.
One City Expeditionary Elementary School was chartered by the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents and its Office of Educational Opportunity in 2018. One City was the first brand new public charter school chartered by the System. Its plans to expand through grade 6 were approved by the UW System in 2019 and grade 12 was approved in 2021.
After a significant vetting process, One City was invited to join the Charter School Growth Fund of Colorado’s investment portfolio of schools in 2019. CSGF identifies the country’s best public charter schools, funds their expansion, and helps to increase their impact.
