This 10,238 square feet facility has eight large classrooms with child-sized bathrooms attached to every classroom, a commercial kitchen, laundry room, teacher resource room, six garden plots, two playgrounds, two large storage areas and seven administrative offices. Madison’s Penn Park is also located one block from the facility and it shares an external playground with the Boys and Girls Club as well.
We are thrilled to announce that we have purchased a forever home for the One City Schools campus. Located at 1707 W. Broadway, our new home sits on 13.5 acres. The building itself is 157,000 square feet and is surrounded by space that will provide excellent opportunities for outdoor learning and recreation.
Our new campus is situated just 5 blocks from Lake Monona, near Lake Waubesa, and 10 minutes from downtown Madison.
Elementary and Middle School students enrolled in 5-year-old Kindergarten through 7th grade will attend school in this newly renovated facility during the 2023-24, with additional grades being added in 2024-25 and beyond.
Ultimately, the campus will be home to our 5K- grade 12 scholars.
Designed by prominent local Japanese American Architect, Henry Kanazawa, the South Madison Day Care facility was built in 1969 by Attic Angel Association of Madison and The Foundation for Friendship following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
