Joe Parisi

Joe Parisi brings decades of public service and community leadership to One City's board of directors. A lifelong resident of the Madison area, Parisi served as the fifth Dane County Executive from April 2011 until 2024. During his tenure, Parisi oversaw county government through a period of rapid growth, with Dane County adding nearly 100,000 new residents, and built a reputation as an environmental leader, helping make Dane County one of the greenest counties in America.

Before serving as County Executive, Parisi represented Dane County in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 2005 to 2011, and served as Dane County Clerk from 1996 to 2004.

Parisi earned his B.A. in sociology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison, following an earlier stint at Madison Area Technical College. He is a former president of the board of directors of Operation Fresh Start, an organization that empowers young adults through education, mentoring and employment training, and has also served on the board of the Goodman Community Center. He most recently joined the board of One City Schools in Madison, reflecting his longstanding commitment to early education and closing achievement gaps.
