Ms. Linda Allen joined One City's team as the co-director of our Preschool and as an administrative leadership coach for our school's leadership team.
She began teaching in the Madison Metropolitan School District in 1982. She taught kindergarten for 12 years at Lowell and Shorewood Hills Elementary Schools before becoming a school principal, and serving in this role for 23 years at four Madison elementary schools: Lincoln, Van Hise, Thoreau and Chavez. She also taught kindergarten at St. Peter Claver Catholic School in Minnesota prior to teaching in Madison. She retired in 2017 but continued coaching principals and educators for MMSD on a limited basis. Ms. Allen is a Wallace Fellow who holds as bachelor's degree in Sociology and teacher certification from Beloit College and Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Edgewood College. She and her husband Ray Allen, reside in Madison.
Ms. Allen will work to lead the implementation of the Anji Play education program in our preschool (ages 2 through 4K) and establish a strong professional development program with teachers and support staff.
